Hospital patients wearing tights designed to prevent blood clots could be at greater risk of slipping over on the wards, the MHRA has warned.
The agency said it had been made aware of a number of falling incidents involving patients wearing anti-embolism hosiery and no other footwear.
It advised nurses and others to ensure patients wore slippers or other non-slip footwear.

Absolutely agree. Another problem being the disposable foam shaped slippers we provide for patients. They never fit properly and tear easily.
It is difficult when we have patients with noone to bring things in from home, so we have no alternative but to use what we have. Can't see the NHS funding a shoe or slipper supply though.. Can you imagine the increase in debt then!
