Royal Free closes A&E after power failure
The Royal Free Hospital in London was forced to close its accident and emergency department today after a power failure.
Although power has since been restored, the trust said the supply was still being tested and that A&E would not be re-opened to ambulances until the power supply was secured.
The hospital has cancelled all non-emergency surgery and outpatient appointments today. It is advising non-urgent patients not to attend the hospital and that their appointments will be rearranged.
