Funding programme created for patient-centred research
A new partnership has been create that will provide funding for nurses to lead innovative local projects to improve patient care.
The Foundation of Nursing Studies announced its new partnership with the Burdett Trust for Nursing last week.
The partnership will provide funding for the ‘Patients First programme, which will provide support and facilitation over a 12-month period to clinically based nurse-led teams to help them to ‘develop, implement and evaluate locally focused innovations that improve patient care’.
FoNS chief executive Theresa Shaw said: ‘Our programme will offer both funding of up to £3,000 per team and expertise in facilitating practice development and change; the partnership with the Burdett Trust will enable us both to make a significant difference to patient care and nursing practice.’
Sue Norman, speaking on behalf of the Burdett Trust for Nursing, said: ‘We are delighted to be working with FoNS to achieve positive outcomes for patients, nursing and healthcare practice.’
