Recession fails to dent nursing jobs market
Nursing and healthcare is the only sector of the economy to be experiencing a rise in demand for jobs, according to a report.
The monthly Report on Jobs by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and accountants KPMG, provides the latest information on the UK labour market.
Across all other sectors, recruiters indicated another month of falling staff appointments, although the decline has eased compared to previous months.
The Nursing, Medical and Care sector occupies the highest rank in the demand for both permanent and temporary staff.
Peter Cullimore, chair of the REC Nursing and Social Care Group, commented on the latest survey’s results: ‘In permanent positions, the Nursing, Medical and Care sector has registered growth for the twelfth month running.
He added: ‘At this time, it is vital that high standards are maintained.’
