Exhibition showcases mental health patients' art work

The Stables Gallery in Twickenham will be hosting an exhibition featuring poetry, paintings and 3D artworks made by mental health patients.

Inner Discovery is produced by the Art and Soul group, a local member-led organisation of individuals within the community and individuals that attends day centres and hospitals.

The exhibition includes work by young people and features a collaborative project exploring emotional wellbeing on the theme What Makes Me Happy.

Cllr Pamela Fleming, Strategic Cabinet Member for Community Development on Richmond Council, said:

“Art and Soul have worked with the Council’s Arts Service for a number of years and each time their work goes from strength to strength. The huge amount of contributors this year has created a really unusual exhibition.

“Through Art and Soul members have a forum to express themselves, raise self-confidence, meet new people and learn skills. The exhibition is free and runs until the 4 July. I encourage you to take a look for yourself.”
