Maintain pressure on reforms to protect NHSNew nurse job created at NHS hospital to improve patient care
Former cancer nurse, Kerry Pape, began work last month as senior matron based at Derby Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The new job of senior matron focuses on engaging patients and the public in shaping and reviewing existing and new services offered by Derby hospitals.
Kerry will be responsible for the Patient Advice and Liaison Service and will also be involved in the Patient and Public Partnership Unit.
Ms Pape said: 'I like shaping things and seeing where we are now, what we can do differently and how we can make it better.'
Deputy director of nursing, Maura Teager, said: 'Kerry’s new role can really make a difference to how we look at patient’s experience, how we engage with the public and how we use the information and evidence from complaints to inform our service development.'
