Newly qualified nurse wins National Lottery funding for community in ITV's People's Millions
Fiona White (pictured), a newly qualified staff nurse at West Wales General Hospital in Carmarthen, has been celebrating. She was instrumental in a successful campaign for National Lottery funding to revamp the Newcastle Emlyn playground in west Wales.
Ms White said she ‘waited anxiously’ last week to find out whether the public had voted in favour of awarding the project £50,000 on ITV’s People’s Millions. It now has a total of £104,000.
‘We can complete the park and add perimeter paths, picnic areas and landscape it to make it a fantastic place for the entire community to enjoy, as well as give children of all ages a brilliant play area,’ she said.
