A convicted sex attacker who was allowed to work as a healthcare assistant has been found guilty of raping a disabled patient in hospital.
Naraindrakoomar Sahodree indecently assaulted an 18-year-old girl within three days of her starting work at a Liverpool nursing home in 1997 where he worked, Blackfriars Crown Court in London was told.
But Sahodree lied about his convictions to get jobs between 2003 and 2008 and went on to work at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in central London, where he attacked two patients in 2007 and 2008.
He was found guilty today of rape and three counts of sexual assault against two women.
One victim, a wheelchair-bound multiple sclerosis sufferer, told the court Sahodree moved her alarm buzzer so she could not summon help when he raped her during the night shift on October 31, 2008.
A second woman said Sahodree tried to kiss her on the lips while she was a patient in January 2007 and, on one occasion, touched the upper part of her inner left thigh in what she considered an inappropriate way.
Sahodree, who was remanded in custody, will be sentenced on June 18 and could face the possibility of never being released from jail.
He was struck off the nurses’ register when he was jailed for 21 months after being found guilty at Liverpool Crown Court on April 26 1996 of 13 counts of obtaining property by deception.
On January 16 the following year he was jailed for two months for five counts of indecent assault on an 18-year-old girl who worked at a nursing home he owned and ran.
The sex attacks on the teenager were all committed while he was on bail.
And Sahodree has pleaded guilty to lying about his previous convictions in order to get jobs at the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust and the Central and North West London Mental Health NHS Trust between 2003 and 2008.
He admitted four counts of obtaining a pecuniary advantage - his salary - by deception.

I wish we had labour camps! Chain gangs! Make him pay for his crime. In jail he will be treated too well...
Th poor patients and the poor reputaion of our sterling services to be tarnished with such a rat!

He has all that 'previous' and still he gets jobs in the care sector! I find that truly amazing.......who was in charge of his recruitment?

Agreed, all his previous HX and nothing came up? or was it a case of "ops we forgot to check?"

I agree, what happened to the CRB?? Whilst honest genuine nurses can have to wait months before starting work because of the CRB checks, this animal gets to work without being detected. I agree that the CRB only highlights things that a person has been cautioned or charged for, but he already had a criminal record??!! What is going on with this country??

I remember having two CRB checks within a month of each other in the same Trust just because I had changed posts. So, I find it really hard to believe that this still happens!!! It makes a fool of all the honest nurses.
