Queen's honours leading figure from nursing

Professor Dame Jill McLeod Clark, named by Nursing Times Diamond 20 as one of the most influential nurses of the last 60 years, will be honoured at Queen’s University.

At the university graduation ceremony she will be awarded an honorary degree for services to medicine and public service.

Professor Dame Jill McLeod Clark has played a pivotal role in taking nurse education into universities, developing teaching and research in communication skills and health promotion, and championing evidence-based practice.

As deputy dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences in the University of Southampton, she is an advocate for robust education pathways and advanced nursing roles. She has a distinguished track record in research on the development of clinical and professional skills, inter-professional learning, and health promotion.
