Maintain pressure on reforms to protect NHSNHS hospital forges education links with nursing and midwifery colleges
London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has established a new education and research partnership with two major nursing and midwifery colleges.
The hospital has established a partnership with Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery at King’s College London and the Faculty of Health at London South Bank University.
Undergraduate nursing and midwifery students from both universities will undertake clinical placements at Chelsea and Westminster, as well as the neighbouring Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust.
Andrew MacCallum, Director of Nursing at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, saids: ‘I am committed to strengthening the role of nursing and midwifery research in the Trust and providing the best clinical experience and learning opportunities for future generations of nurses and midwives. Our new partnership with King’s College London and London South Bank University will enable us to do so.
Professor Anne Marie Rafferty, Dean of the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery at King’s College London, said: ‘We are delighted to be partnering with Chelsea and Westminster to fulfil our shared education and research ambitions and to produce world class nurses and midwives for tomorrow.”
