Maintain pressure on reforms to protect NHSNurses urged to contribute to Prime Minister’s Commission on Nursing and Midwifery
Less than a month is left for nurses to have their say to the commission that will determine the future of nursing and midwifery in the NHS.
The Prime Minister’s Commission on Nursing and Midwifery will end its period of consultation with the profession and others on August 10 before it begins to prepare its report, which is due to be submitted by March.
The commission has launched an interactive website, held a series of local and national events, and called on individuals and organisations to submit ideas.
Chaired by health minister Ann Keen, the commission, which has met three times, is looking at everything from how nursing can play a key role in the development of the health service in the UK, to the future of nurse education.
