Maintain pressure on reforms to protect NHSPrime Ministers's nursing commission: one month to have your say
There is less than a month left for nurses to have to their say to the commission that will determine the future of nursing and midwifery in the NHS.
The Prime Minister’s Commission on Nursing and Midwifery will end its period of consultation with the profession and others on Monday August 10 before it begins to prepare its report, which is due to be submitted by March next year.
The Commission has launched an interactive website, held a series of local and national events, and called on both individuals and organisations to submit ideas.
Chaired by health minister Ann Keen, the Commission, which has met three times so far, is looking at everything from how nursing can play a key role in the development of the health service in the UK, to the future of nurse education.
The Commission’s website asks for individuals’ views on what makes an ideal nurse or midwife, and what they would like to see nurses and midwives do more of.
