The outstanding work of GPs and community nurses during and after last month’s Cockermouth floods has been recognised at a special Downing Street reception for public sector workers.
Cockermouth GP John Howarth and community nurse Jane Mooney were among a group from NHS Cumbria who recently met Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Health Minister Ann Keen at Number 10.
