The Medicines and Healthcare products regulatory agency has issued a warning over three models of Appollo bath hoists.
The affected models are Elegance, Excalibur and Appollo, which were all manufactured before 2009 by Aquabeau or Airbath Appollo.
The MHRA said there was a risk of the occupant sliding out of the seat and sustaining serious injury, because the seat was not originally fitted with a safety device to stop the occupant falling from the seat if they start to slip.
