Welsh nurse recognised for work with older people
RCN Wales has awarded board member Janet H. Evans with a special recognition award for her work in championing the care of older people.
Ms Evans, who trained at Neath General Hospital in the West Glamorgan Authority, received the award at the RCN Wales’ conference in Cardiff last month.
She is now semi-retired and acting as a consultant to the directors of the Park House Court Nursing Home, which she helped set up in 1977. Ms Evans is also an active RCN board member, representing Care of the Older Person.
Tina Donnelly, RCN Wales director, said: ‘Members such as Jan epitomise what the special recognition award is about. She is very knowledgeable about her work with older people and very passionate about patients receiving quality health care. We are very lucky to have nurses such as Jan as advocates for patients.’
