Maintain pressure on reforms to protect NHSBupa offers help to young unemployed
Bupa has signed up to a new Government drive to create opportunities for thousands of young people and to help them gain the vital experience and skills needed to enter the world of work.
Alistair How, director of Bupa’s UK care said: “The world of healthcare offers many opportunities for rewarding jobs and Bupa is determined to do all we can to help young people to reach the first rung on the careers ladder. We have thousands of young people working in a range of roles across the UK and are fully aware that they are the lifeblood of a successful company – as well as a successful economy.”
The Backing Young Britain campaign features employers from across Britain who are all actively committed to helping young people find work.
Launched by Prime Minister Gordon Brown, along with Work and Pensions Secretary Yvette Cooper, at a special event in Birmingham, it offers the guarantee of a job for anyone aged 18-24 who has been unemployed for more than 10 months.
Speaking at the event Gordon Brown said: “I am delighted that companies recognise the value of Backing Young Britain and have joined the campaign. Together we can create thousands of opportunities for young people and ensure that the next generation gets its foot on the careers ladder.”
