Swine flu confirmed in three more people in the UK
The Prime Minister has confirmed three further cases of swine flu in the UK
Gordon Brown made the announcement in the weekly Prime Minister’s questions session at the House of Commons.
The new cases are a 41 year-old woman from Redditch, a 22 year-old man from Barnet in North London and a 12 year old girl from Devon.
As a result the girl’s school has been closed and pupils are to be offered antiviral drugs as a precaution.
‘All have mild symptoms, all are receiving and responding well to treatment,’ Mr Brown told MPs.
Following questioning from Conservative Party leader David Cameron, the Prime Minister added that several million more face masks have been ordered for NHS staff and will arrive within the next few weeks.
