Lessons and exams have now been suspended for pupils at five schools in England because of the swine flu outbreak.
Downend School, in south Gloucestershire, South Hampstead High School, north London, the Dolphin School in Battersea, Alleyn’s School in Dulwich and Paignton Community and Sports College have all been affected.
Pupils and staff who were in close contact with infected pupils have been offered antiviral drugs by officials from the Health Protection Agency.
At Downend school, a pupil from year seven was confirmed as having H1N1 influenza A and at Hampstead High School a pupil in year nine was infected.
