  • Search for new NMC chief exec put on hold

    Ronald Luton-Brown's comment 9 October, 2012 1:55 pm

OK! so the NMC are flunking it AGAIN! Why should we as Registered Nurses continue to be controlled by this organisation that is only here to protect the public from us? The DoH need to step in and help get us Registered Nurses the Register we deserve!

  • The big question: should nurses be helping to bail out the NMC through hiked reg fees?

    Ronald Luton-Brown's comment 23 May, 2012 11:35 am

I complained when it went up to £76 per year one of the reasons given then was for paying out pensions to UKCC and NMC staff. I don't have a pension through choice it won't be worth anything! This time its because too many complaints against RN's! The NMC dropped it's standards to allow people to complain about Nurses for trivial reasons (Couples splitting up. Not washing your hands after using toilet) The NMC offers me Nothing only to protect the public from me. We have courts for that! Also why don't we register with the college of training? They have all my original documents! Time to get rid of a government quango that is doing nothing other than making me pay for the privelage of being a RN and doing sod all for it! and think of the cost of just going to work? £120 NMC Union £22+ a month CRB £46 every 3 years travel costs to get to work well over £1,000 a year before all your other bills.

    Ronald Luton-Brown's comment 24 November, 2010 1:34 am

So the Managers get it in the neck for the appauling standards of care AND Nursing (yup with a capital N!) that was given by low grade nurses. Why do the perpertaures of this virtual blood bath get away with it? NAME and shame! They have brought MY Profession in to disripute!

  • Trust apologises after nurses refuse to lift 15-stone patient

    Ronald Luton-Brown's comment 9 October, 2009 1:25 pm

You only get the one back But the hoist thing is only one of the issues raised. What about making the patient more comfortable washing her face checking if she needed the toilet etc? That is Good Nursing!

    Ronald Luton-Brown's comment 7 October, 2009 10:33 pm

  • NMC under fire for lack of support on swine flu surge

    Ronald Luton-Brown's comment 7 October, 2009 10:28 pm

    What about care homes?
I work in the so called Private sector as a RMN (Part 3) working with a range of clients from mental health to Learning Disabilities and ages 18 to 98! I have experience of General Nursing through out my career so feel able to deal with Physical care But what about others whom i have worked with who have had problems dealing with someone with a bad cold let alone Flu!? OK People need supervision and should ork within their limits any idiot knows that! What the NMC needs to show it will offer a miniscul mount of support to someone who may get into difficulties IF they stray a little. BUT Then the NMC is not their for Registered Nurses is it? Its to Protect the General Public from us wild Registered Nurses! Time for Change i say Give the RCN more clout and chuck out the Quango!
