Inpatients should always be linked to nurse ratios. HCP's work alongside the nurses. Safe staffing is of the upmost importance. Perhaps the decision makers should read the NMC Code?
I totally agree......great project. Surprising that some Parish Nurses are volunteers.....you have to earn a living after all and hands-on nursing does not pay well anyway. Hence why so many go into management.
Comment on: Final panel decision and reasons: 'How should a panel treat a nurse who steals controlled drugs but genuinely regrets their actions?'
After suspension, the NMC should apply a 'conditions of practice' for 3 years, with reviews annually. This is such a serious offence Nurse A will find it hard to continue his career. He has also jeopardised any trust from any other future employer/colleagues outside nursing.
As there is a Registered Nurse Level 2 qualification on the NMC, then surely it would be straight forward to reintroduce that training to Diploma level.....2 years? They should then be Band 4 and a qualified clinical nurse. Apologies to present Band 5 RN2's.
Getting rid of the SEN is a huge error.
Good luck to all entering nursing and I wish you well.
Comment on: Cultural competence in nursing Muslim patients
But we do this already in practice with all Faiths!
I trained in Cardiff in the 1980's and cultural and religious differences were always included in our nursing assessment and care plan. Special care was taken at handover also to mention certain 'do's and don'ts'.
I find this article mind blowing and disrespectful to all RN's.
All patients are treated with due care, consideration and consent obtained.
Could it be that present RN training is at fault, if such an article needs to be written?
I would appreciate any feedback from other religions and denominations please.
