Call to use cheapest asthma drug

  • Comment
Nurse prescribers should opt for the cheapest inhaled corticosteroids for adults and children aged 12 years and older with chronic asthma, according to NICE.

The institute also said the least costly option should be used for steroid and long-acting beta2 agonist combinations.

NICE also suggested continuous positive airway pressure as a treatment for adults with moderate or severe sleep apnoea, and also in mild sleep apnoea but only if symptoms affect life quality.
