Can't escape the housework? You're not alone

This week a nurse made the papers for getting trapped in an ironing board. And this isn’t the only danger nurses face.

While the nurse was eventually freed from the ironing board by the fire brigade, legions of nurses face countless other risks every day.

Needlestick injuries, cuts, burns, back pain, and attacks by patients are just a few of the dangers that lurk on every ward - so maybe getting stuck in an ironing board was a lucky escape?

Beyond the Bedpan once got struck in the face by a rogue ice cube from a G&T, but maybe we should have been grateful that we didn’t get hit by a reversing ambulance?

Today’s lesson? Count your blessings. And get a friend to do your ironing.
