2017 Care Home Open Day Emphasises “Friendship”

“Friendship” is the theme of next year’s Care Home Open Day on 16 June 2017, which is hoping to emphasise the relationship between local communities and their care homes.

The purpose of Care Home Open Day has always been to celebrate local communities around and within care homes, as well as commend the many homes that offer excellent care to these same communities. It is hoped that 2017’s day of celebration will top the 4,300 care homes that got involved in 2016.

Care Home Open Day will be celebrated in conjunction with The Big Lunch, which is a chance to gather people together, sit down to lunch, and foster community bonds between care homes and their neighbours. These two organisations working together is poignant example of friendship, and – even more – their partnership is a special opportunity for those living alone in care homes to connect with others from across the community and prevent loneliness.

  • I think you mean 4,300 care homes not "43,000" :-)

This really helps improve care home providers improve their services since they would have shared their experience with other care home providers in the event.
