Career boost for senior BME staff

  • Comment
A new NHS programme has been developed to give senior black and minority ethnic (BME) staff a better chance to attain director-level jobs.

Top Talent was launched as part of the Breaking Through programme at a conference last month and will be open to BME NHS staff who are already operating at a senior level.

The initiative is partnered with the NHS management training scheme (MTS) and aims to provide 18 month director level job opportunities for senior BME staff in the NHS.

Top Talent programme leader Yvonne Coghill said: ‘The programme offers the opportunity for individuals to develop personal development plans based on clear and objective diagnostic tools and provides development activities which will support career planning and progression, develop leadership skills and capabilities.‘
