Career change

I am a qualified mental health nurse and also have a degree in mental health nursing but would like to retrain in adult nursing.

I am a qualified mental health nurse and also have a degree in mental health nursing but would like to retrain in adult nursing.

I have done some research on the internet for conversion courses, but there doesn't seem to be any. I'm sure I'm not the only nurse to want to change my career direction. Do any courses exist or could I join the three year diploma course after the first year, as I did the CFP when I originally qualified.

Your advice would be much appreciated.

Sue

Answer:

Hello Sue,

If your internet research has not produced any answers on conversion courses I am not sure how I can help. Have you spoken to your line manager about this? He/she would be in a far better position to advise.

If, however, you are wanting a change of direction into another occupation I could certainly offer a lot of advice,

I am sorry I my reply disappoints you.

Best wishes,

Tim Dotchin
