The last three months since we launched the Nursing Times Awards seem to have flown by and, with summer hopefully just around the corner, suddenly the closing date for entries is looming

There are literally just a few days left now to either complete your Nursing Times Awards entry or get started and get it in the bag to have a chance of winning one of our trophies across 23 categories. We have already extended the deadline until 10 May so do not delay.

An award win looks great on the CV and could just be the stepping stone you need to help move up the ladder or get that dream job.

It is also a chance to spread best practice and tell the nursing world about your great care and innovation. Whether you are an exemplary nurse that embodies the best of the profession, a team that goes above and beyond for your patients or a rising star making a difference in your organisation – we want to hear your story.

Taking place on Wednesday 30 October in a glittering evening ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London, the annual Nursing Times Awards recognise those making nursing an innovative, patient-focused and inclusive profession.  Highlighting excellence

in a wide range of nursing specialties from mental health to clinical research, the awards also provide the opportunity to congratulate your peers, leaders and the brightest talent entering the profession.

You can either nominate yourself and your team or nominate another individual, ward or team that you admire. But time is of the essence, so get entering to avoid disappointment.

Meanwhile, the next of our popular programme of jobs fairs – Nursing Times Careers Live – are well and truly on the horizon. We will be coming up to Liverpool later this month, at the Hilton on the 18 May to be precise, ahead of the Royal College of Nursing’s annual congress there the following week. Then it’s down to London on 8 June for our next event at Victoria Park Plaza.

If you are in either city or region, please come along and say hello. You can also book your ticket in advance. At each venue, we will have a hall packed with employers wanting to meet you as well as a cracking programme of speakers designed to support and inspire you on your career journey.
