Comment on: Young people 'underestimate nursing'
Judging by people I talk to the general public has little idea of the level of responsibility that nurses have. Just one example - who knows that nurses are responsible for making sure the drugs they administer are correctly prescribed? Everyone I speak to thinks the you just do what the doctor has written without checking the obs chart, the patient, the dose, any procedures the patient is about to have - etc. I had no idea myself until I started training.
this approach cd lead to an environment where people look out for what's going well which wd be motivating in itself
another bit of jargon - please what is a "never event"?
Thanks Graham for putting things into perspective. Without outside interests and keeping as fit as possible I'd find the course even more stressful than it is.
