Breast cancer interventions in A&E recommended

Breast cancer screening should be offered to women waiting in accident and emergency departments, according to US scientists.

The University of Kentucky research found that of 197 women surveyed, more than 15% had never received a mammogram, and more than half had not had one in the past year.

However, more than 75% of the women surveyed said they would be receptive to preventative health interventions in A&E, said the researchers.
