Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK, with around 1 in 20 people developing it in their lifetime – so it’s likely you’ve come into contact with someone who’s been affected.
macmillan bowel cancer
With April being Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to draw your attention to the information and other resources Macmillan has available for the people you support – whether they’re worried about bowel cancer screening or have already been through treatment.
- Are you worried about bowel cancer? (MAC12151)
- Understanding bowel cancer screening (MAC11687)
- Managing the late effects of bowel cancer (MAC12162)
If anyone you support has seen their bowel or bladder function affected by treatment, please also pass on one of our toilet cards. This handy, pocket-sized card and key ring are designed to give people urgent access to a toilet when out in public.
Don’t forget you can download or order leaflets, booklets and CDs for free at be.macmillan.org.uk/cancerawareness. Please remember to log in to access the entire range.
