Last month, 70 former Macmillan professionals and staff came together at an exclusive event in Manchester to mark the official launch of the Macmillan Alumni.
As well as providing learning and development opportunities, the event gave Alumni members a chance to hear about the ways they can get more involved with our work – whether it’s by becoming an Alumni Ambassador, mentoring new professionals or taking part in consultations.
Alumni Patron Heather Tierney-Moore, Chief Executive of the Lancashire Care Trust, explained her reasons for joining the Alumni: ‘I get a huge sense of pride by being a part of the Alumni, by reconnecting and meeting incredibly passionate people. Macmillan has a great vision for the future and there’s a real opportunity for the Alumni to help Macmillan achieve it. I’d encourage all former professionals to come back and explore what they might be able to do.’
If you think the Alumni may be able to support your team’s work, please email email@example.com. Or if you know someone who’s retiring or leaving a Macmillan post and might be interested, please let them know they can contact us.
