A Competence Framework for Nurses: Caring for Patients Living With and Beyond Cancer.

  • Comment

It is estimated that more than 500,000 people in the UK are currently facing poor health or disability as a result of their cancer treatment.

This framework will help nurses working in any healthcare setting, at any level, to acquire new skills and to embrace innovative ways of managing cancer as a long-term condition.

This important document has been developed by the Macmillan CCaT community of influence, and has endorsement from the Royal College of Nursing and UKONS.  It is the first of its kind in the UK, identifying core domains of care for patients living with and beyond cancer.

The competence framework is now available at and can be ordered for free through (order code: MAC14735).
