It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so you may find more people coming to you with concerns about their inherited risk of breast cancer.
Based on guidance issued by NICE for assessing a woman’s risk of having familial or hereditary breast cancer, Macmillan’s Online Personal Education and Risk Assessment tool, OPERA, asks around 10 questions to provide a woman with personalised information and support. You can find out more about the tool here.
There’s also a wide range of breast cancer resources on be.Macmillan, including information on breast cancer in your family, breast screening and breast cancer in men, plus posters to promote the awareness month in English and Welsh.
Please spread the word about the OPERA tool and other resources. With your help, we can ensure everyone affected by breast cancer gets the information and support they need.
