March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, so you may have more women come to you with concerns about their inherited risk of ovarian cancer.

You can direct them to Macmillan’s information and support where appropriate.

The booklet Are you worried about ovarian cancer? (MAC12152) discusses the risk factors of ovarian cancer, including family history, and explains how people can reduce their risk. Cancer genetics – how cancer sometimes runs in families (MAC11673), is designed for people who are worried cancer might run in their family or have been told their family has a cancer gene.

We’ve also produced two ‘10 Top Tips’ PDFs in association with Target Ovarian Cancer. One version supports professionals in the early diagnosis of ovarian cancer and the other is for women who are worried about symptoms.

March also marks Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. To help you raise awareness among the people you support, we’ve got a range of information and resources, including:
