UK city unveils world's biggest clinical trials unit

  • Comment

The world’s largest early clinical trials unit, The Christie Foundation Trust in Manchester, has opened its doors.

The unit is housed in a £35m three storey building which also includes the biggest chemotherapy facility in the UK.

It is hoped the unit will help develop new treatments for a whole range of cancers, with around 2,400 patients a year able to access the latest treatments through clinical trials and around 200 drug trials going on at any one time.
