  • Comment

Angela Bartlett has become the UK’s first cardiometabolic nurse specialist. She is employed at University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust.

Ms Bartlett will work with patients who have been identified as having a high risk of developing cardiovascular disease. These include patients with metabolic syndrome, which includes conditions such as type 2 diabetes, obesity and hypertension.

Around 15 patients a week will attend her clinics, where they will receive support on managing their weight. She will also see patients in the diabetic and lipid clinics.
