NICE consults on diabetes and glaucoma

  • Comment

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has launched a consultation on national quality standards for the care of adults with type 1 or 2 diabetes, and also for people with glaucoma.

NICE has published 15 statements on the specialties, on which it is inviting opinion from clinicians, commissioners and patients.

Fergus Macbeth, NICE Centre for Clinical Practice director, said: “They will set the benchmark for healthcare quality in these two disease areas.”

The consultation will close on 16 December, with final quality standards due to be published in June.
