Research library for nurses involved in blood transfusion

  • Comment

NHS Blood and Transplant has launched a transfusion evidence library, which it has billed as a unique database for clinicians to find papers relating to transfusion medicine.

The database currently contains over 640 reviews and 3,285 trials, with new information due to be added each month. The library is free to access for UK blood services and NHS staff.

Professor Mike Murphy, clinical director for patient services at NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “We believe that this database will be a huge asset to many health professionals.

“By linking to as much of the relevant literature as we can, we have created what is essentially a one stop shop for transfusion medicine information. We hope that this will enable people to search for articles in a smarter way.”
