Judith Brassington, a multiple sclerosis specialist nurse, has won a national award from a charity in recognition of her work.

Ms Brassington, who works for Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, has been named by the MS Trust as the winner of the “My Super Nurse Award 2012”.

She received the most nominations from patients of all the nurses involved.

Ms Brassington, who is based in Ulverston, said: “The call from the MS Trust came out of the blue. There are MS Nurses throughout the country working hard to improve the lives of people affected by MS so I was shocked to find out that I’d won!

“The MS Nurse Service in Cumbria is relatively new and it is great to hear such positive feedback. For patients to go out of their way to nominate me for the award is a very humbling experience.”
