St George's theatre nurses protest against cuts

Around 150 theatre nurses and other staff at St George’s Hospital in London began 2011 with a lunchtime protest against public sector cuts.

The staff are also concerned about proposals for theatre reorganisation. The trust is planning to change working patterns to “achieve cost savings of £190,000”.

A trust spokeswoman noted that staff had chosen to “exercise their democratic right” to protest in their own time.

  • Does the spokeswoman think there are no democratic rights in the healthservice then, so these can only be exercised in our own time? Or am I making a mountain out of a mole hill!!!!!!!!!!
