Bursary available for theatre nurses

  • Comment

Theatre nurses are being urged to apply for a £1,000 cash award to enhance their training.

The educational bursary offered by the Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) can be used to support a wide range of training such as post-graduate education and attending conferences.

It is open to members of the AfPP, the Royal College Nursing and the Infection Prevention Society.

“The award is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to really enhance their standard of expertise – to the benefit of patients,” said AfPP’s managing director Dawn Stott.

Last year’s winner was Elizabeth Pickup, a clinical educator at King’s Mill Hospital in Nottinghamshire, who used the sum from the Ethicon Nurse and Practitioner Educational Trust Fund to attend workshops and lectures.
