Nurses to feature in Olympics opener

Hundreds of NHS nurses are to feature in the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, according to reports.

Early details of the ceremony were revealed on Friday by its artistic director is film director Danny Boyle, six months before the start of the games on 27 July.

He said the £27m Olympics opening ceremony will have a Shakespearean theme based on the play the Tempest.  

The event will be titled “Isle of Wonder” and involve hundreds of NHS nurses and 900 local schoolchildren, he said.
