Mölnlycke launches negative pressure wound therapy sealant

  • Comment

Mölnlycke Health Care has launched Mepiseal, a flexible sealant that aims to provide more effective negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT).

The company says Mepiseal was developed in response to feedback from clinicians, who advised that while NPWT is recognised as an effective treatment, fixating and maintaining the dressing seal to ensure there are no leaks can be difficult.

Mepiseal is a liquid soft silicone sealant that uses Mölnlycke Health Care’s Safetac technology. can be applied quickly and accurately from a single-use applicator.  It moulds to the skin, forming a seal that prevents exudate spreading.

Mepiseal can be used with any NPWT system.  It can also be used where added fixation and wound sealing is needed, such as on difficult to dress wound areas.

Mepiseal is available in a 3ml applicator, either directly from Mölnlycke Health Care or via the NHS Supply Chain catalogue.   For more information, contact Mölnlycke Health Care on 0800 7311 876 or go to
