Untreated ulcers at risk of venous reflux

Venous leg ulcers that go unhealed for a long time are at risk of provoking venous reflux, particularly in the popliteal vein, according to research.

Scientists writing in the Journal of Wound Care found that a long duration of a chronic venous ulcer may predict a poor outcome, after studying 90 patients with the condition.
