CNO aware of training worries

  • Comment
Chief Nursing Office for England Chris Beasley has signalled the NMC will act on concerns about removing specialist branches of pre-registration training.

Ms Beasley told delegates to ‘take heart’ that so many respondents to the council’s consultation had raised concerns about the possible removal of the mental health pathway.

The consultation asked whether branch programmes should be replaced by a generalist scheme.

Harvey Morgan, RCN Student Nurse Association member and mental health student, said: ‘As a specialist branch we are still concerned that people who have not had specialist training could apply for the same jobs as us in the future.’
