  • Comment

Chief nursing officer for England Dame Christine Beasley will launch the new institute next month in London.

The Institute of Mental Health Nursing City marks a joint collaboration between City University London and East London NHS Foundation Trust.

This venture intends to build upon the expertise of both organisations and will bring together innovations in mental health care practice, research and education. The joint Institute is intended to combine the clinical and managerial expertise of trust staff with City University London’s academic and research staff.

Head of nursing at East London Foundation Trust Jonathan Warren said: “This combination will mean that the nurses of the future will have a high quality experience during their training and any subsequent training. As the nurse leaders of the future, they will be able to lead by example and deliver the best therapeutic care for people with mental health difficulties.”

The launch will take place on 6 October at the Northampton Suite, City University London.
