Moving to student loans will cut out mature students who have so much to offer. Who in their right mind is going to saddle themselves with £50,000 debt in their mid thirties. I speak from experience retrained with wife and 3kids to support ,difficult in 1995. Impossible now!!!!!!! Also point no one is picking up on, If magically. 10,0000 student nurses are taken on how the devil are the going to find placement and mentors for them. Please note nurse get chuff all for the extra work when mentoring

No-one is considering if by miracles extra students sign up under new loans system. How current placements and mentors will be sourced. Remember mentors get no reward or extra monies for our role, just extra work to squeeze into an already busy workload. I am one that value and enjoy working with students, but there comes a point when we need to say no more unless we are valued through our meagre wage packets

Don't be to overcome with excitement. Pay review body recommended 1%for current year and/ same for 2015\16. Stopping increments for higher paid , I read band 8c and above last night, this article suggests 8a . Could be thin edge of wedge in future pay awards .Current arguments is that top increment is correct rate for job. We work towards it. Same applies to 8a and above . I sense divide and conquer tactics are long term plans

I am confused - No to local pay yet south west consortium can continue to screw their staff. I know Now that I should have been a banker, this pathetic excuse of a Govt might have more respect for us

might be good for downing street to tell the suits who run 16 Trusts in the south west. Strong evidence that they are committing £10,000 each towards the cartel to impose local pay negotiations ( or should I say cuts)

What have Nurses done other than work hard, put in extra hours, care about patients, absorbed a 2 year pay freeze ( plus 2 more lean years) increase pension contributions and proposed hike in registration fees
We are all in it together = Do we hear MP's having localised pay they also live in so called cheaper ares
