'Dragon' backs health initiatives

  • Comment
Nurses involved in health charities or social enterprises can win £1000 cash for their organisations in a Dragon’s Den style competition being run throughout the year.
Organisations in Northumbria, Sheffield, Stafford and Shropshire which benefit the health of the local community are being invited to pitch their project to a panel of experts, in the style of the BBC2 programme Dragon’s Den.

Teams will be judged by a panel of experts with winners receiving a cash prize and advice from a business entrepreneur.

BBC dragon James Caan, who is backing the project, said: ‘This is an interesting opportunity to learn about ideas for improving people's health’.

The competition is part of a Department of Health funded initiative called Journey to Health.
