Drive to reduce avoidable slips

  • Comment
A team of Yorkshire nurses is embarking on a campaign to cut falls among older people – by ensuring they are wearing correctly fitting slippers.
The project, run by Hull City Council, Age Concern and Hull PCT, intends to provide special ‘non-slip’ slippers to anyone who wants them.
Christine Alexander, community matron for long-term conditions at the PCT (pictured right with volunteer Jean Braithwaite), said: ‘We follow criteria for fitting the slippers to make sure they
fit snugly.’
