The Nursing profession should consider some of the behaviour I witness on a day to day basis at my hospital in NW London.
Filipinos make up at least 80% of the workforce they speak in their own language all day everyday in the workplace. They sit at separate tables and don't allow anyone to sit with them.African nurses who make up less than 20% of the workforce do socialise in their own groups at work but they only speak English at work rather than their own language.Filipinos are now the majority in the workplace where I work and Band 7s and above speak in their own language in front of patients and other staff now what do people think about that kind of disgusting behaviour ?

The police and the Nursing profession need to answer the following questions.
Who signed the immigration papers that allowed him to come to the UK ?
Who signed and gave his references ?
Who interviewed him and recruitment him into the NHS ?
Who signed his intravenous documents in the clinical areas ?
How many other staff knew what he was doing and for how long ?

yes you can just see operating theatre nurses meditating while they deal with two unconscious patients at the same time.
This article just adds insult to injury.

  • Comment on: Labour unveils pledge to train 1,000 extra nurses this year

Recruitment of 1,000 nurses really does smell like desperation for votes.
You will not keep nurses if you treat them like dirt.
Im currently an anaesthetic nurse in a large teaching hospital in London and the situation is worse than ever.We lose permanent staff with 18 months of recruiting, students nurses do not take up posts but go elsewhere and to make things even worse our valuable agency staff no longer return because of huge workload and no breaks. It has become so severe that our weekend elective surgery has to be staffed by agency or our permanent staff doing bank shifts on their days off.
These political parties and the greedy NHS bosses are clueless when it comes to how to recruit and retain staff

  • Comment on: 'No improvement over safe staffing', indicates nurse survey

    eduardo escobar's comment 14 April, 2015 5:01 pm

Why is it that Nursing Unions only refer to staffing levels on a ward ?
Have their never heard of staffing shortages in an operating theatres ?
