Florence Nightingale Foundation invites scholarship applications

The Florence Nightingale Foundation is pleased to announce that, in 2009, it awarded 30 Research and 25 Travel Scholarship to be undertaken in 2010.

These prestigious scholarships are awarded to nurses and midwives who are British and Commonwealth citizens, who are working in the UK and are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

The Foundation is now welcoming applications for its scholarship programme for 2010-11.

The research scholarships award funds to undertake the research modules of a degree or masters programme or a research dissertation. The outcome of the research will result in evidence-based care for patients and clients.

The travel scholarships are awarded to nurses and midwives who wish to investigate aspects of care within their sphere of work to improve the quality of care for patients.

The Foundation is a living memorial to Florence Nightingale:  it advances the study of nursing and promotes excellence in nursing practice.
